Festival Glastonbury

Festival Glastonbury je hudobný festival, ktorý sa od roku 1970 uskutočňuje každý rok v anglickom meste Pilton. Patrí medzi multižánrové festivaly (rock, indie rock, dance, world music, elektronická hudba, reggae, folk), priestor je vyčlenený aj pre divadlo, tanec a kabaret.

Vznik festivalu ovplyvnila éra hippies. Prvý ročník sa konal pod názvom Pilton Festival a navštívilo ho 1500 účastníkov. Odvtedy sa festival vypracoval na jednu z najdôležitejších hudobných akcií leta, vystúpili tu napr. Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Metallica, Foo Fighters, New Order, Oasis, Radiohead, R.E.M., The Smiths, The Cure, Lou Reed, Beastie Boys alebo U2.

V roku 2019 obsahovala festivalová ponuka cez 2 800 rôznych predstavení na 79 pódiách[1], návštevnosť bola okolo 200 000 ľudí.[2]

Hoci každý rok postihuje festival vlna dažďov až záplav, o lístky je enormný záujem. V roku 2018 sa 135 000 vstupeniek predalo za 36 minút.[3]
