Spiritchaser

Spiritchaser bol posledný štúdiový album Dead Can Dance predtým než sa cesty Brendana Perryho a Lisy Gerrard rozišli. Album vyšiel v roku 1996. Podobne ako album Into the Labyrinth je inšpirovaný hudbou rôznych mimoeurópskych kultúr, čerpá hlavne z hudby Afriky a Južnej Ameriky.[1] Spiritchaser bol nahratý v Quivvy Church, v Írsku. Album vyšiel vo formátoch CD a LP.

Melódia skladby „Indus“ sa veľmi podobá melódii piesne Beatles „Within You Without You“, ktorú zložil George Harrison s indickými hudobníkmi. Hoci táto podobnosť nebola zo strany Dead Can Dance zámerná, nakoniec museli požiadať Harrisona o súhlas a vydavateľstvo ešte trvalo na tom, aby Harrison bol uvedený ako spoluautor skladby.[2][3][4]

Autormi obalu sú Chris Bigg a Kevin Westenberg.[5][3] Vinylová verzia vyšla ako dvojitá LP.[5]

V roku 1996 dosiahol album 75. miesto v rebríčku Billboard 200 a 1. miesto v rebríčku Top World Music Albums.[6]
