Život
Dessoir sa narodil v Berlíne. Získal doktorát na univerzitách v Berlíne (filozofia, 1889) a Würzburgu (medicína, 1892). Bol profesorom v Berlíne od roku 1897 až do roku 1933, kedy mu nacisti zakázali učiť.[chýba zdroj] Zomrel v Königsteine.
