Transcendentné číslo
Transcendentné číslo je každé reálne číslo (alebo aj komplexné číslo), ktoré nie je algebrické číslo.
Transcendentnými číslami sú napríklad Ludolfovo číslo alebo Eulerovo číslo .
Množina transcendentných čísel je nespočítateľná množina. Pritom až do roku 1844 nebolo známe, či existuje aspoň jedno transcendentné číslo.
