Je zakladateľom a frontmanom nemeckej power metalovej skupiny Edguy, tiež známy ako tvorca metalovej opery Avantasia a člen metalového projektu Final Chapter. Tiež bol hosťom Rob Rocka na albume Holy Hell a metalovej opere Aina. Na albume skupiny Edguy Theater of Salvation boltiež basgitaristom a klávesákom. Neskôr sa zameral hlavne na spev. Obľubuje kapely ako sú AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Kiss, Tom Petty, Helloween.
