Chris Spedding

Chris Spedding, rodným menom Peter Robinson (* 17. jún 1944, Staveley, Derbyshire, Anglicko) je britský rockový a jazzový gitarista a hudobný producent. Vyrastal u adoptívnych rodičov, ktorí mu jeho pôvodné priezvisko Robinson zmenili na Spedding. Svoju kariéru začal koncom šesťdesiatych rokov ako člen skupiny The Battered Ornaments a po jej rozpade hral s jazzovou kapelou Franka Ricottiho. V roku 1969 hral na prvom sólovom albume basgitaristu Jacka Bruce nazvanom Songs for a Tailor.

Neskôr začal vydávať sólové albumy; jeho najväčším hitom bola pieseň „Motorbikin'“ z roku 1975. V máji 1976 produkoval prvú demonahrávku punkovej skupiny Sex Pistols. V roku 1985 spolu s Marianne Faithfull prispel skladbou „Ballad of the Soldier's Wife“ na album Lost in the Stars: The Music of Kurt Weill. Počas svojej kariéry spolupracoval (ako štúdiový hudobník alebo ako producent) s mnohými ďalšími hudobníkmi, medzi ktorých patrí The Vibrators, Art Garfunkel, John Cale, Nick Mason alebo skupina Roxy Music.
