Matthew Flinders (* 16. marec 1774, Donington, Spojené kráľovstvo – † 19. júl 1814, Londýn) bol britský moreplavec, navigátor a kartograf.

Bol jedným z najúspešnejších navigátorov a tvorcov máp svojej doby. Počas svojej kariéry, ktorá trvala len niečo cez dvadsať rokov, sa plavil s kapitánom Williamom Blighom,oboplával a pomenoval Austráliu, prežil stroskotanie a pohromu, aby bol neskôr uväznený ako špión.
Objavil a opravil efekt vplyvu železných komponentov a vybavenia lodí na zobrazovanie údajov na kompase, nazývaný deviácia kompasu a spísal prácu o objavovaní Austrálie nazvanú A Voyage To Terra Australis, ktorej vydania sa už ale nedožil.
