Kool & the Gang

Kool & the Gang je americká R&B/funková skupina, ktorá bola založená v roku 1964. Vznikla v meste Jersey City v štáte New Jersey. Pôvodný názov, vtedy inštrumentálnej skupiny, bol Jazziacs,[1] avšak v lete 1969 sa premenovala na Kool & the Gang a podpísali nahrávaciu zmluvu s vydavateľstvom De-Lite Records.[2] hudobný repertoár skupiny sa menil z jazzu cez R&B až po funk a disko v 80. rokoch.

Dodnes skupina vydala 24 štúdiových albumov, pričom medzi ich najznámejšie skladby patria „Ladies’ Night“, „Celebration“, „Joanna“, „Fresh“ či „Cherish“.[3] Celosvetovo predala skupina viac ako 70 miliónov albumov.[4]

V roku 2018 boli uvedení do Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame členovia Robert Bell, Ronald Bell, George Brown a JT Taylor. [5]
