Začínal v roku 1963 vo formácii Kris Ryan and the Questions.[2] Neskôr pôsobil v The Truth, The Sisters of Idle Dreams a Glass Menagerie. V rokoch 1970 a 1971 bol členom Toe Fat. Úspech zaznamenal v období rokov 1971 až 1980 a 1987 až 2001 hraním v skupine Bee Gees.
